Project Location: Guilford
County's Southwest
Park
Project Description: The
new Southwest Park
being built by the Greensboro parks
and recreation department, on the new Randleman reservoir will have many
walking trails and paths that cross water.
My project will be to build a bridge, on one of the new trails, that
crosses a sixteen foot wide and seven foot deep ravine that would be very
difficult to cross otherwise. The bridge
will allow everyone who visits the park to be able to completely utilize the
new trail system. The bridge will also
be wide enough to allow utility vehicles to cross the creek. This will aide the others working in the park
by allowing them to carry materials to work sites farther down the trail on
small vehicles instead of having to carry them; as well as making the trail
more accessible in the event of an emergency.
