Project Location: Guilford
County's Southwest
Park
Project Description: The
new Southwest Park
being built by the Greensboro parks
and recreation department, on the new Randleman reservoir will have many
walking trails and paths that cross water.
Harrison's project was to build a boardwalk, on
one of the new trails, that crosses a 42 foot wide wet weather marsh area that
would be very difficult to cross otherwise.
The boardwalk will allow everyone who visits the park to be able to
completely utilize the new trail system.
The boardwalk will also be wide enough to allow utility vehicles to
cross the marsh area. This will aide the
others working in the park by allowing them to carry materials to work sites
farther down the trail on small vehicles instead of having to carry them; as
well as making the trail more accessible in the event of an emergency.
